Brockport Home Systems Ltd. (H+me Technology) is a leading construction company dedicated to advancing the design, manufacture, delivery, and construction process of floor, wall, and roof components for the home building industry.

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate initiatives to promote health and safety in the workplace.
  • Verify certifications and monitor compliance for personnel and equipment.
  • Initiate and coordinate health and safety training in compliance with OSHA, company policies, and procedures.
  • Generate health and safety statistics and provide reports to management.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Recommend coaching or disciplinary action to supervisors when violations are noticed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant provincial health and safety legislation and regulations, including MTO, MOL, WSIB requirements, and guidelines.
  • Partner with Human Resources on issues related to investigations and return-to-work planning.
  • Manage and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure load securement and transportation compliance.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a quality management program in compliance with company standards and CSA standards.
  • Conduct quality system training.
  • Create and update documentation within the quality system.
  • Oversee the inspection process for incoming, in-process, and finished products.
  • Manage corrective action.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate with accuracy and detail.
  • Current knowledge of the OHS Regulation, Regulations for Industrial Establishments, MTO, MOL, WSIB Regulations, and Requirements.
  • Ability to work an occasional afternoon shift.
  • Detail-oriented and good time management skills.
