We are seeking an exceptional Psychiatrist to join our inpatient Assessment and Stabilization & Comprehensive Psychiatric Care units at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph. This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated professional who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.

About the Role:

  1. Clinically responsible for assigned patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, referral, daily care, and discharge.
  2. Diagnose and manage psychiatric disorders, prescribe medication, and refer patients to specialized services as needed.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including individualized support and return-to-work planning.
  4. Supervise and manage patient care, ensuring high standards are met through regular assessments and documentation.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

What We're Looking For:

  • A specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent body acceptable to the Royal College and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Experience with complex psychiatric disorders and comorbid mental health and substance use disorders is preferred.
  • Able to inspire a team environment that promotes collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital.
