A prestigious opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join our inpatient Women's Trauma and Concurrent Program at the Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario. Our program is a groundbreaking initiative offering intensive treatment tailored specifically for women* with complex trauma.

The Women's Trauma & Concurrent program delivers on-site at the Homewood Health Centre in a collaborative manner, with a supportive interdisciplinary team, including nurses, registered psychotherapists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, music therapists, and horticulture therapists.

Our program features:

  • Specialized treatment led by an experienced clinical team of all genders, including assessment, stabilization, skills development, trauma processing using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and discharge planning
  • Group programming featuring dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), substance use recovery processing, and relapse prevention, as required

Clinically responsible for assigned patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, monitoring, referral, daily care, and discharge. Clinical care includes diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders, medication management, referral to the Interventional Psychiatry Service (ECT, rTMS, Ketamine infusion) when appropriate.

Collaborate with other physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide optimal patient care within an interdisciplinary team. Complete documentation, including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, weekly progress notes, and a comprehensive discharge summary of the highest quality.

Pursue specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent body acceptable to the Royal College, and maintain good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

$180,000 - $220,000 per annum. As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community from COVID-19, we require that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
