We are seeking a skilled Catering and Event Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for coordinating events, managing catering requests, and providing exceptional customer service.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $22.00 per hour. You will work on a 6-month assignment, during which time you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience in a leading organization.

Job Description

As a Catering and Event Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Eptura Catering Requests, including new requests, edits, cancellations, dietary restrictions, and quantities
  • Validating request specifications with requestors
  • Closely collaborating with the Receptionist and AV coordinator to manage meeting room logistics
  • Managing complex catering events
  • Preparing and updating food and beverage tracking sheets
  • Researching menus and caterers and placing orders according to requirements
  • Preparing conference rooms for internal and client meetings
  • Clearing meeting rooms after meetings
  • Coordinating and managing all invoices pertaining to events

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also assist internal clients with event planning, coordinate logistics with AV coordinators, and maintain a visible role within the organization. You will use strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills to produce exceptional events and maintain contacts and network opportunities within the event planning profession.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or 5 years of related experience in a catering and events role
  • Prior exposure to conference center catering and events or the food and hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and intermediate proficiency in Google Applications and MS Office Suite
  • The ability to learn new software and work independently within a team environment
