Job SummaryWe are seeking an Indigenous Student to join our team as an HR Student, Indigenous Student Program. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent high school graduate, current post-secondary student, or recent post-secondary graduate to gain valuable experience in human resources and contribute to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with HR functions in regional operations, participating in diverse HR activities and projects that support the region's plans and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with FNHA departments and the region to advance team objectives.
- Participate in the development and execution of recruitment and talent acquisition plans.
- Provide support for the recruitment process and assist with employee onboarding.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR activities and processes.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on enhancing employee engagement.
- Indigenous background (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis)
- Reside in British Columbia during the program
- Recent high school graduate, current post-secondary student, or recent post-secondary graduate, including co-op or practicum students
- Experience in recruitment, new employee onboarding, employee relations, customer service, and research
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, or related fields
- Strong interest in HR and a willingness to learn and contribute to HR functions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Adaptability; the ability to adjust to a changing environment
