About This Opportunity

Dartmouth General Hospital (DGH) is seeking a skilled Hospital Medicine Specialist to join their team in providing high-quality care to patients. The hospitalist service at DGH offers a unique opportunity for physicians to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, coordinating care with the interprofessional team, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for patients admitted to the hospitalist service at DGH
  • Coordinate care with members of the interprofessional team for the provision of quality care
  • Participate in systemic quality process evaluation and improvement such as patient safety and practice audit
Expected Hours
  • L locum, full-time, or part-time positions available
  • Schedule is flexible, with typical full-time schedules including two weeks on/two weeks off or one week on/one week off
  • Participate in weekend call (1:4 for full-time)
  • Participate in overnight call (2 shifts/month for full-time)
Qualifications
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

In terms of compensation, we are offering a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
