Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to join our Education team at Fort McKay First Nation. As an Educational Transportation Coordinator, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from the e-learning program, as well as other events, while prioritizing their safety and well-being.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for:

  • Transporting students to and from the e-learning program in a safe and timely manner;
  • Assisting with student supervision during field trips to Fort McMurray;
  • Interacting positively with students and staff members to foster a supportive learning environment;
  • Maintaining a clean driving record by adhering to traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of students while on the bus;
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and transportation logistics;
  • Collaborating with the Education team to develop strategies for improving student engagement and academic outcomes;
  • Providing exceptional customer service to parents and guardians regarding transportation inquiries and concerns;
  • Staying up-to-date with changing traffic laws and road safety regulations to ensure compliance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience working in a First Nations community, including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and values;
  • A clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance;
  • A valid class 4 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
