Job Title: PLC Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Engineer to join our team at The Engineering Institute of Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated production systems using PLC and HMI systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project managers and R&D teams to develop state-of-the-art robotic systems for automated storage of garments on hangers.
  • Assume an active role in R&D, involving computer-aided design work and hands-on experimentation to test and evaluate robot behavior.
  • Take charge of end-to-end automation tasks, including PLC programming, IT systems management, and supervision of electrical panel design.
  • Participate in project brainstorming sessions, contributing to idea generation and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to contribute to the development and design of mechanical components.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or robotics engineering.
  • 2 to 7 years' experience in PLC and HMI systems development.
  • Good knowledge of PLC/HMI systems and programming languages, including GRAFCET, ladder, and ST programming.
  • Good electrical knowledge, including control and power systems.
  • Bilingual, English and French, to communicate with internal and external suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in an R&D environment.
