About the Role: Automation & Controls Engineer

Shape the future of packaging machinery as an integral part of our dynamic engineering team. We design and manufacture sophisticated automated systems requiring innovative problem-solving and forward-thinking approaches. Your contributions will encompass electrical design, ladder logic programming, intuitive human interface development, software architecture documentation, and timing charts. You'll be actively involved in product validation and manufacturing to ensure a seamless full-cycle development process. Occasional travel with machinery may also be required.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive technological advancements by contributing to the evolution and enhancement of electrical designs for packaging machinery, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Program diverse machine elements, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, pushing technology forward and guaranteeing seamless operations.
  • Develop procedures and define programming parameters for various electrical instruments, becoming a go-to expert across departments. Your expertise will be instrumental in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues within packaging automation.
  • Validate system and component capabilities through rigorous testing methods, upholding essential standards and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable products that exceed industry benchmarks.

What We Look For:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in automation engineering or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Automation.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment with constantly evolving priorities.
  • Experience with Omron, Weintek, SolidWorks Electrical, C/C#/Python, Github, and Wrike is an asset.
  • Regulatory experience (CSA, UL, CE, PHSR, USDA) is a plus.
