About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Estimator to join our team at Tri-Mach Group Inc. As a Project Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for welding, piping, and Field Service projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals from Request For Quotations for projects with a focus on welding, piping, and fabrication projects
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Create concept sketches and scope documents for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and field service to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Provide expertise knowledge to customers & team members to ensure projects are completed accurately on budget & on time
  • Support and guide project teams throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure adherence to scope and budget
  • Contribute to the mechanical design review process with guidance and feedback
  • Develop extensive knowledge of product lines, preferred practices, and all applicable industry standards
  • Conduct site visits with customers, project management, and field service personnel to obtain field measurements and/or develop project scopes
  • Attend project kick-off meetings as required
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Completion of College/University degree or diploma or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project estimating within the welding, piping, or metal fabrication industries
  • Strong understanding of CWB and TSSA regulations, and the applicable certification requirements
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of material and labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and project scheduling
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
