We are seeking a highly skilled Project Estimator to join our team at Tri-Mach Group Inc. as a key member of our project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for welding, piping, and Field Service projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Estimation: Prepare accurate proposals from Request For Quotations for projects with a focus on welding, piping, and fabrication projects.
- Project Analysis: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Concept Development: Create concept sketches and scope documents for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Project Coordination: Work with project management, engineering, and field service to ensure successful execution of projects.
- Customer Support: Provide expertise knowledge to customers & team members to ensure projects are done accurately on budget & on time.
- Project Guidance: Provide support and guidance throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure adherence to scope and budget.
- Design Review: Provide guidance and feedback in the mechanical design review process.
- Product Knowledge: Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices and all applicable industry standards.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits with customers, project management, and field service personnel to obtain field measurements and/or develop project scopes.
- Communication: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns.
- Proposal Presentation: Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Professional Conduct: Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship.
- Customer Experience: Provide professional and positive customer experience.
- Additional Responsibilities: In accordance with company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company.
- Education: Completion of College/University degree or diploma or equivalent job experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project estimating within the welding, piping, or metal fabrication industries.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of CWB and TSSA regulations, and the applicable certification requirements.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Estimating Skills: Strong knowledge of material and labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and project scheduling.
- Software Skills: Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Organizational Skills: Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Additional Requirements: Experience with CAD software and other relevant design tools an asset. Strong organizational, time and budget management skills. Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
