Accident Benefits Claims Specialist

We're seeking a skilled Accident Benefits Claims Representative to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you'll play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable
- Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements
- Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim
- Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet our legislative requirements
- Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness
- 1+ years of claims adjusting experience required (Auto, Property, Accident Benefits, Total Loss, Casualty, Specialty)
- Accident Benefits claims handling is preferred
- Alignment with IFC company organizational values
- Medical knowledge is an asset
- Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
- Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- A critical thinker when it comes to approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations and with minimal supervision
- A skilled communicator, allowing you to foster favorable business relationships
- Have a keen ability to listen to others with the goal of gathering information, allowing you to efficiently evaluate a situation
