What You Will Do?

  • Process and track accounts payable invoices, issue cheques, manage EFT transfers, and submit vendor payments on time.
  • Handle accounts receivable processes, including cheque/electronic deposits and maintaining AR records.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends affecting AP/AR and assess cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly chargeback invoices and manage invoice cancellations.
  • Maintain various working schedules for balance sheet items and account reconciliations.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and assist in monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Manage asset recovery reconciliations and corporate office allocations.
  • Prepare and process journal entries (e.g., wages, petty cash).
  • Perform administrative tasks (filing, photocopying, drafting correspondence) and handle supplier/subcontractor communications.
  • Monitor online banking activities and liaise with branch offices on processes and procedures.
  • Support GST returns, WCB filings, and semi-monthly payroll processing.
  • Complete cash transfers, credit card reconciliations, and manage expense allocations.
  • Update accounting system data and accounting-related information.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned and provide back-up support for accounting tasks.
  • Participate in team projects and process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:


Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution would be an asset.

Experience:


Minimum one year experience in a financial setting.
Previous experience with internal accounting/property management systems (MRI Software) would be an asset.

Skills:


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external resources.
Excellent time management and organization skills to simultaneously handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, articulate ideas, and react appropriately under pressure.
Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, with additional skills in Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI and Power Automate) as an asset.
