Sous Chef

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ahmic Lake Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. You will also demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff, supervise their activities, and instruct them in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Recruit and hire staff.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
Requirements:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
