Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Animal Health Specialist to join our Toxicology team in Laval. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our laboratory animals, which is crucial for the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting biological samples (blood, urine, etc.)
  • Collecting and recording data (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.)
  • Administering injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular, etc.)
  • Providing animal care and handling
  • Cleaning and maintaining animal rooms
Job Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in animal health, biology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A college diploma in animal health, bioecology, or a related animal science discipline
  • A bachelor's degree in biology or a related discipline
  • Excellent observation and communication skills
  • The ability to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
  • A strong understanding of written English is mandatory; bilingualism in French and English is preferable

Please note that upon being hired, you will be required to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Role Specific Information:

  • Location: Laval / Free parking / Near the subway Montmorency
  • Salary: Starting at 23$/hrs. Opportunity to start at a higher level and higher salary with specific research experience
  • Premiums:
    • Evenings: $2.50
    • Weekend: $2.75
    • Overtime: Time and a half
    • Holidays: Double time
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule, the candidate must be available days, evenings, and weekends. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime, holidays, and night shift
  • Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week
