Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Float Pool team at Brightshores. As a member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will provide care to patients with stable and predictable outcomes, working collaboratively to promote health and assess, provide care for, and treat health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO.
  • Work collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, using evidence-based practices and Brightshores' CARE Behaviours.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting a culture of patient safety and respect.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry advancements.
  • Travel to various sites within the corporation, as required, to support staffing needs.
Requirements
  • RPN Certificate of Competence with the Ontario College of Nurses.
  • Ability to work at full scope of practice.
  • Physical Assessment Course or equivalent.
  • Competency in aseptic technique, urinary catheterization, administration of medications, IV therapy, POCT.
  • Excellent organizational, patient assessment, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  • Access to reliable transportation, as travel to rural hospitals is required.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
