Job Summary
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Communication Officer in the Sheriff Operational Communication Centre (SOCC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing communication support to Sheriffs Branch and Ministry partners, ensuring timely and accurate security and dispatch services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and deliver security and dispatch services to stakeholders and buildings associated with the Government of Alberta.
- Provide communication support to Sheriffs Branch and Ministry partners, including responding to alarms, safety concerns, and prisoner transportation.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications Supervisor and other team members to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and provincial enforcement agencies.
Requirements
- Post-secondary one-year certificate in a related field, such as emergency communications or a related field.
- Experience working in emergency dispatching and control room environments, preferably with a government agency.
- Knowledge of Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and other dispatching tools and software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
