About the Role

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a skilled Strategic Donor Engagement Specialist to join its Advancement team. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying, cultivating, and securing major gifts from donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 100 major donor prospects and establish effective relationships with them to secure gifts greater than $25,000.
  • Develop and implement gift strategies in support of Saskatchewan Polytechnic's priorities, utilizing operating/business plans to ensure successful identification and qualification of prospective donors.
  • Design and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies, negotiate appropriate gift stewardship for each prospect/donor, and solicit prospects to identify and motivate individuals, organizations, and foundations able to advance Saskatchewan Polytechnic's mission through charitable giving.
  • Create submissions to foundations, requiring sophisticated skills, as well as navigating internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree AND/OR equivalent experience in related fields such as Business, Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences, etc.
  • Five years of experience working in a fundraising position within a donor cycle, identifying, cultivating, and securing gifts from prospects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of principles for philanthropy, fundraising, planned gift giving, gifts in kind, and bursaries.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian philanthropic environment, CRA charitable giving regulations, and available charitable gift vehicles.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
  • Able to initiate, write, analyze, monitor, evaluate, and advance strategic development plans.
  • Able to cultivate and nurture sustainable relationships with donors, senior volunteers, institutional, and business leaders across all levels in the organization.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with basic office software, such as MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn function-specific software.

Benefits

Saskatchewan Polytechnic offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
