Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Estimating Coordinator to join our team at Prodigy Group. As an Estimating Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting our project bids and tenders, utilizing your industry-based experience to assist us in winning project opportunities in various sectors of the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective relationships with specialty subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Prodigy's core values, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Research historical tendering and award data, compiling information requested in an organized and clear format for team reference and use towards strategizing bid/tender opportunities.
  • Research data on construction industry labor and material cost trends.
  • Update and maintain Tender/Supplier lists according to varying project and company requirements by sourcing and qualifying new subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing and communicating with Prodigy team at initial project tender invite and at project completion to determine strengths and weaknesses of each subcontractor/supplier.
  • Provide preliminary search efforts and alert the Chief Estimator/Director, Pre-Construction of bid opportunities from public/private tender sites/forums.
  • Assist with preparing estimate/bid documentation, including project-specific tender bidder's lists, drafting and sending Invitation to Bid to subcontractors and suppliers, attaching Supplemental Conditions and/or Appendices, completing and reviewing all quantity take-offs, drafting Drawing and document logs, and drafting and sending Letters of Regret.
  • Provide various administrative support, such as photocopying, printing, Boardroom set-up and clean-up for meetings, binding, courier, assembling packaging documents and other project elements, and assisting the Office Manager with office supply inventory and replenishment.
Requirements
  • Certified Estimating Coordinator (CEC) through the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveying or an Engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) is an asset.
  • Local experience in estimating as a general contractor and/or construction manager is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, On-Screen Take Off, Bluebeam/Adobe, MS Project, and Procore.
Work Environment

The primary work environment for this role is a hybrid in-office setting, with rare exposure to external environmental conditions. This role has no business travel days outside the normal work site and no overnight travel.
