Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for coordinating activities to obtain costing and supporting new programs, engineering changes, and market tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Develop and utilize knowledge of commodities and supplier cost structure to achieve cost reduction and price negotiation objectives.
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Procure prototype components and material to support pre-production builds, and assist with sourcing activities for program teams.
  • Tooling and Prototype Management: Track tooling and prototypes following kickoff to ensure timelines are met, and prepare tooling and/or prototype requisition and purchase orders as required.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Work with senior purchasing team to ensure vendor relationships are developed and maintained, and assist with the resolution of problems in supplier performance.
  • Budget Management: Support Purchasing Department budgeted targets and maintain Purchasing Departments procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months purchasing experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency working with Trans4M and SAP, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, and product knowledge in automotive parts or material commodities.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work with multiple demands and competing deadlines, strong communication and negotiation skills, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
