Bar Supervisor

Job Summary:
The AMS of UBC is seeking a skilled Bar Supervisor to join our team at the Pit Pub. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service and beverage quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe liquor service and compliance with legal requirements and AMS standards.
- Achieve sales goals through upselling and providing timely service according to AMS standards.
- Provide excellent guest service and handle cash transactions with accuracy.
- Apply proper accounting principles to balance the till at the end of the shift.
- Reduce waste and spillage by following AMS procedures and guidelines.
- Deploy staff effectively to achieve labor targets and ensure maximum safety for patrons and employees.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and demonstrate excellent grooming and uniform standards.
- Clear and clean tables throughout the shift and ensure all cabinets, coolers, and office safe are locked at the end of the night.
- Assess, order, and receive inventory to maintain an appropriate level of product stock.
- Report operational problems and maintenance issues to the manager.
- Keep informed of upcoming events and promotions and provide information to the public regarding all aspects of the bar's operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience in a high-volume bar environment.
- Ability to do shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- POS experience required, preferably Squirrel.
- Serving-It-Right Certification required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60kgs (132lbs).
- Ability to learn quickly, build relationships, and work in a team-based environment.
