Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our HR team. As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the talent acquisition process, working closely with hiring managers to develop job postings, screening candidates, conducting phone interviews, managing the recruitment process, conducting reference checks, and managing the candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the full recruitment life cycle, including screening, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communication.
  • Post job openings on job boards, company career pages, and other platforms.
  • Prepare all HR documentation for new hires, including offer letters and onboarding documents.
  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions.
  • Update and maintain all HRIS databases, including UltiPro and UKG Time ready.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions and recruitment data in the applicant tracking system.
  • Create recruitment reports and metrics.
  • Help build our external employer brand.
  • Attend recruitment events and community building initiatives.
  • Liaise with 3rd party recruitment agencies.
  • Manage the co-op recruitment process, which occurs 3 times per year.
  • Sit on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and assist in updating processes and procedures.
  • Act as back-up for the other HR Specialist, including responding to the internal HR inbox, liaising with payroll, managing benefits, and general HR administrative responsibilities.
  • Support on other talent initiatives, such as the annual talent review process, succession planning, and learning & development.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in human resources, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 years of experience in recruitment or HR Generalist role.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Ultipro system is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
