Job Title: Pediatric Inpatient Unit Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Inpatient Unit Nurse to join our team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality nursing care to patients with predictable outcomes
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care
  • Use the Nursing Process to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
  • Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action
  • Manage multiple nursing interventions simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain strong interprofessional and communication skills
Requirements:
  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification in BCLS
  • Recent experience in Paediatric Nursing with experience in the care of complex patient populations
  • Ability to use the Nursing Process in conjunction with basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
  • Strong interprofessional and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or recent continuing education in paediatric nursing
  • Lactation support/education
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Emergency Nurses Paediatric Course (ENPC)
