At ScotiaMcLeod, we're committed to delivering exceptional financial planning support to our clients. As a Senior Financial Planning Associate, you'll play a key role in helping our Wealth Advisors prepare and deliver personalized financial plans that meet the unique needs of their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll:

  • Proactively support the financial planning needs of our Wealth Advisors, including deep discovery with clients to uncover goals and objectives, preparing and presenting financial plans, and providing alternative scenarios or solutions when clients are unable to meet their goals.
  • Build financial plans that address clients' immediate and future goals and objectives, and identify and communicate referral opportunities to advisors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing professional practice by participating in monthly Total Wealth Planning calls and providing general support to Wealth Advisors and teams by providing updates on financial planning trends and strategic recommendations that may benefit their clients.

Requirements:

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced financial planning professional who possesses:

  • A CFP designation and in-depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process, including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning, and tax issues.
  • A college or university degree and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Advanced understanding of financial planning software and experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement from client discovery, plan preparation to presentation delivery.
  • Experience in a client-facing role with opportunity to provide financial advice and Canadian Securities Course and/or Life Insurance License is an asset.
