About the Role:

The Regina Public Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Page. As a Page, you will play a vital role in maintaining the physical integrity of our library collections, ensuring that materials are accurately shelved and easily accessible to our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort, shelve, and shelf-read library materials to ensure accurate cataloging and easy access for patrons.
  • Run and reconcile request pull lists and trace reports to ensure timely fulfillment of patron requests.
  • Pull library materials identified for weeding, as instructed, and process withdrawn materials for branch book sales.
  • Conduct inventory of collections to ensure accurate tracking and maintenance of library materials.
  • Empty bins and book drops, pack and label outgoing bins, and maintain branch book sale areas.
  • Set up rooms for programs and undertake minor cleaning of public areas and equipment.
  • Answer or direct patron queries where appropriate, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 education.
  • Ability to organize materials following numerical and alphabetical sequences.
  • Physical fitness to perform the requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public and staff, and to work as a member of a team.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and work independently with a minimum of direct supervision.
