We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Desk Agent to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide front-line IT support for our Enterprise-wide network, encompassing 11,000 to 13,000 end-user workstations and web site access. This role requires strong communication, technical, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve desktop, server, and network-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for end-users, troubleshooting and resolving issues with desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document software and hardware installation procedures, user guides, and common problem issues with resolutions.
  • Provide on-the-spot end-user training and support.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to resolve technical issues and improve IT services.
Requirements:
  • Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a Help Desk/Service Delivery Support role.
  • Knowledge of current desktop and network operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and 10.
  • Familiarity with commercial software applications used in a networked environment, such as Microsoft Office XP, 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2016 products.
  • Understanding of personal computer and network hardware components, data communications hardware, software, and networking protocols, with emphasis on TCP/IP, Terminal Services Application, and Microsoft Server environments within an Active Directory managed Domain.
