About the Role:

The City of Iqaluit seeks an English Language Expert to act as an interpreter, utilizing their fluency in English and South Baffin Dialect Inuktitut languages at meetings. Additionally, they will translate council and committee meeting minutes and correspondence to ensure seamless communication between Councillors, staff, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret during meetings, demonstrating proficiency in both English and Inuktitut languages
  • Translate meeting minutes and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements:

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of office equipment
  • Ability to use computerized translation software efficiently
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Inuktitut and English
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, is required for this role

Compensation:
