Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead and coordinate estimating activities across the company, ensuring successful project execution.
  2. Oversee the development and management of senior estimators, estimators, and junior estimators.
  3. Foster clear job expectations, provide coaching, and offer timely feedback on job performance.
  4. Precisely estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs necessary for constructing projects according to proposals, plans, estimates, and specifications.
  5. Engage in business development through interactions with key industry stakeholders (owners, developers, consultants, subcontractors).
  6. Acquire tender offers and negotiate projects effectively.
  7. Attend pre-tender meetings and site investigations.
  8. Provide customers with comprehensive value products, technical expertise, and quality service.
  9. Maintain industry connections to stay updated on new products, markets, and developments in the construction sector.
  10. Negotiate contracts and projects with owners, engineers, and land developers.
  11. Determine and create new opportunities beyond the local market.
  12. Collaborate with operations and project team members throughout the entire project.
  13. Supervise preparation of all sub-contracts to ensure timely and accurate contract administration.
  14. Earn and adhere to the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Proven estimating and project management skills.
  2. Ability to utilize cost-estimating software for preparing quotes and bids.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  4. Familiarity with or ability to learn estimating and financial software including JDE, HeavyJob, HeavyBid, and other HCSS platforms.
  5. Understanding of quality analysis and control issues.
  6. Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  7. Strong time management abilities.
Experience / Education
  1. Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or equivalent is an asset.
  2. Civil Engineering Technology or P.Designation is an asset.
  3. A minimum of 5 years' experience leading, training, and motivating other employees.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on industry standards and qualifications.
