We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Breezy Corners. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Food Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
- Menu Development: Create new recipes and menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Culinary Leadership: Instruct and train cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Event Catering: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets and functions.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high productivity.
- Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain a well-stocked and well-maintained kitchen.
- Quality Control: Plan menus and ensure that food meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. The ideal candidate will have excellent physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Requirements- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
