Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor to join our team at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in the Coastal Forest Technology Diploma and Coastal Forest Worker Certificate programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
  • Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
  • Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
  • Communicate clearly in writing learning outcomes for programs and courses
  • Design and conduct evaluations or appraisals of students
Requirements
  • Forest professional or related discipline with a minimum of three years industry experience
  • Master's degree in education, forestry, environmental studies, or a related field
  • Curriculum development experience
  • One year teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate
  • Experience with course instruction, including facilitation of theoretical and applied learning, coordination of field trips, and coordination of instructional resources
