Role Summary

">

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist - Fraud Detection to lead the development of advanced fraud detection models and oversee implementation of data and model development pipelines.

">

Key Responsibilities:

">
  1. ">
  2. Work closely with business owners to understand business requirements, performance metrics regarding data quality and model performance of customer-facing products.">
  3. Lead the development of advancing fraud detection models specifically credit and debit card transaction-level models.">
  4. Enhance best modeling practices to maintain the competitiveness of our fraud detection models.">
  5. Oversee implementation of data and model development pipelines.">
  6. Explore fraudulent patterns or trends for feature discovery and enhance fraud detection model performance.">
  7. Manage the testing of trained models to ensure their robustness and assess their readiness for deployment.">
  8. Collaborate with senior data scientists to implement and optimize models within big data pipelines.">

Requirements:

  1. ">
  2. At least an undergraduate degree in CS, or a STEM-related field.">
  3. Experience with XGBoost and strong grasp over data science and machine learning concepts.">
  4. Good knowledge of Linux/Bash environment and Python/Pyspark technologies.">
  5. Loves working with error-prone, messy, disparate, unstructured data.">

Nice to have:

  1. ">
  2. Experience building payment fraud detection models.">
  3. Graduate degree in CS, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related STEM field.">
  4. Experience with data engineering in PySpark on petabyte-scale data.">

Pay Ranges:

Vancouver, Canada: $122,000 - $195,000 CAD

Salary Disclosure

The estimated salary range for this position is between $122,000 - $195,000 CAD per year, based on location and experience.
