Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technician to join our team at Paladin Technologies. As a Senior Technician - Security, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Install, program, configure, and commission security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fence detection systems, in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the continued functionality and reliability of security systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Cabling and Networking: Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables, connectors, and related components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cabling systems with other network infrastructure components.
  • Client Support: Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs, provide expert guidance, and offer solutions tailored to their requirements. Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and professionalism.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records (documentation) of system installations, maintenance activities, and repairs. Prepare, create, and execute detailed reports and acceptance test plans to meet SLA's, contracts for clients, and internal use.
  • Training and Development: Train clients and end-users on the operation of security systems to maximize their effectiveness and ease of use. Stay up to date with advancements in security technology, regulations, and industry best practices. Continuously improve your technical skills through training and certifications.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete and file all project documentation. Provide administrative support to project managers and other team members as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Progressive experience in a technical role within the integrated security or low-voltage industry(s) is required.
  • Leadership: Previous experience leading installations at the site level is preferred.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment is required.
  • Programming Experience: Programming experience is preferred for senior positions.
  • Certifications: Vendor certification in low-voltage systems is preferred (LENEL, GENETEC, MILESTONE, AVIGILON, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, SENSTAR, HANWHA, BOSCH, DSC, and others).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 50% to 70% is required.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean abstract are required.
  • Education: Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent is considered an asset.
