About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Environmental Field Technician or Technologist to join our team in Saskatoon or Regina. The successful candidate will work with our Contaminated Sites team, serving government, commercial, and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and adhere to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate risks to employees, clients, and the public.
  • Identify and report potential and existing site hazards, near loss incidents, and loss incidents.
  • Maintain excellent field notes and collect and handle soil and groundwater samples.
  • Carry out fieldwork, including groundwater monitoring, K-test data collection and analysis, soils sampling, and subcontractor supervision.
  • Supervise subcontractors for ground disturbance and utility location, surveying, borehole drilling, and groundwater monitoring well installation.
  • Oversee remedial contractors, including directing remedial excavations, waste tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Prepare and coordinate project documentation, subcontractors, and equipment for field programs.
  • Filing and managing all project-related field notes, including data entry and report preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in environmental, hydrogeology, or related sciences.
  • 2-5 years of applicable experience with training junior staff in environmental practices.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety issues and a safety-conscious attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with particular attention to detail and accuracy of field notes.
  • A valid driver's license.
