Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Prince George, BC. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in patient care, ensuring the smooth collection and preparation of specimens for testing.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and interact with patients, explaining the specimen collection process and ensuring they follow necessary test protocols.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, including medical/legal drug screens and clinical trials.
- Maintain client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
- Enter patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data into our system.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
