We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory services and ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specimen collection, preparation, and testing under the supervision of the Chief Technologist or designate.
- Conduct inpatient and/or outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, and/or Holter monitor testing as required, and explain test procedures to patients.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate testing processes.
- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program, and one (1) year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively and maintain a positive working relationship.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to operate related equipment and maintain accurate records.

- Four weeks vacation with one year of continuous service.
