About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Administration Officer to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Student Assistance Office, you will play a critical role in providing support to post-secondary students navigating financial aid programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding financial aid programs and services.
  • Assist in the completion of relevant forms and assessments, and provide written explanations when necessary.
  • Represent the Student Assistance Office at meetings with other departments, student groups, and client partners.
  • Deliver off-site information presentations to educational institutions, both high school and post-secondary.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, experience in public speaking, and the ability to understand and explain complex program criteria to a wide range of stakeholders.

Working Conditions

This is a temporary employment opportunity with an anticipated end date. The appointment status is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate. You must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel extensively throughout the province, including overnight stays when required.
