Operational Risk and Control Expert for Pension Administration

The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is a leading defined benefit pension plan dedicated to providing a secure retirement income to over 400,000 members in Ontario's healthcare sector. We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk and Control Expert to join our Plan Operations Division.
This key role provides senior leadership in the analysis, development, and evolution of the Division's risk and controls environment. As a knowledge expert on best practices for internal and operational controls, you will focus on the strategic implementation of Plan Operations' risk culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a risk and evaluation framework for pension administration activities.
- Provide leadership and direction in assessing operational risks relating to pension administration in the Plan Operations area.
- Collaborate with other HOOPP divisions, including Risk, Finance, and IT, to gain an understanding of key related businesses and IT processes, and identify and monitor risks and mitigating controls.
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in risk management and/or finance, preferably with a CA designation. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the industry, with at least 5 years of management experience, is required. You should have expert knowledge of industry best practices for internal controls and operational risk management.
A strong working knowledge of IT controls and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders are essential. You must be able to lead a team of operational risk management and controls experts and manage workflows, resources, and performance goals.
