Job SummaryThe Plant Manager will lead the development and execution of operations strategies to drive business growth, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and lean six sigma principles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement operations strategies to meet business objectives, including cost reduction, inventory management, and capacity growth.
- Lead and manage manufacturing, maintenance, and environmental/health/safety teams to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, implement new technologies, and optimize supply chain operations.
- Manage key partner relationships and performance metrics to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive operations strategy to meet and exceed key performance indicators, including cost reductions, inventory targets, and customer quality and delivery requirements.
- Lead and direct health, safety, and environmental compliance and culture across the organization, both staff and manufacturing teams, to continue success with Roquette's core value of safety.
- Sponsor Lean Six Sigma projects and actively participate in frequent project reviews.
- Engage and focus the organization on cycle time improvement through the application of Lean and Kaizen events.
- Be a change agent for developing key organizational capabilities to continue to improve performance, using such methodologies as Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, as well as other key process and leadership changes/improvements.
- Collaborate with all functional areas to ensure alignment with key priorities and make certain that new products, plans, processes, and other service requirements are effectively translated into operational plans.
- Motivate, develop, retain, and recruit top talent across the organization through employee engagement tools and trusting relationships.
- Design goals and expectations that motivate the organization to achieve the results required for sustainable success.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering (or relevant engineering field), or operations management required. An advanced degree or MBA would be beneficial.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, chemistry/chemical engineering or a related discipline (chemical manufacturing is preferred).
- Expertise in strategy development, cost management, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage capital expenditures, budgeting and expense control, forecasting plant performance metrics.
- Innovative thinker with experience in new process technology/process engineering leadership. Must have relevant knowledge of batch and continuous mass process technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to EHS development and compliance.
- Must have worked in an environment where there is clear collaboration with other functions including commercial, R&D, finance, etc.
- 5+ years as a large site manager in chemical or other relevant manufacturing, being credible at the plant interface.
- Key competencies of business acumen, intellectual horsepower, process management, managing diverse and challenging relationships.
