About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in the Banking Domain. As a key member of our quality engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing testing and quality engineering activities, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Your expertise will enable you to lead and supervise tasks and/or testing teams, drive delivery excellence, and facilitate overall escalation processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Testing Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, accessibility testing, user acceptance testing, and production acceptance testing.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead QE teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members on various areas, including business domain, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
  • Test Planning and Management: Manage and lead testing activities for multiple large-scale enterprise-wide programs/projects, executed in Waterfall or Agile methodology.
  • Risk Management: Assess risks associated with development aspects of each solution/project and define approaches for manual versus automation testing.
  • Quality Engineering Governance: Drive delivery excellence by providing governance and continuous improvement, generating high-quality outcomes, and adhering to prescribed standards and audit requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with people from varied levels within QE and/or outside of QE Teams, including Business/Product, Engineering, PMO, Release Management, Design, etc., to meet key objectives and advocate for quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: University or College Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years of solid experience working within SDLC/TDLC and 8+ years of solid testing experience within the capacity of Software Quality Engineering.
  • Canadian Financial Services Industry Experience: Proficient testing background in the Canadian financial services industry.
  • Mobile and Web Technologies: Experience with Mobile and Web technologies, committed to maintaining a diversified set of skills through continued education and mentoring peers and team members.
  • Test Process Methodologies and Tools: Solid understanding of test process methodologies and tools, including Defect Management Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Test Management and Planning Tools, Web Content Management tools and concepts, Banking systems and their integration.
  • Automation Testing: Hands-on experience with Test Automation using Selenium, Cucumber, or similar.
  • API REST/SOAP Testing: Proficient in API REST/SOAP testing and experience using related tools, SoapUI, Postman, ReadyAPI, etc.
  • Certifications: CTFL, ISTQB, CSQA, CSTE good to have.
