Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
Curtiss-Wright is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, ON. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for generating concepts and developing complex detailed mechanical designs and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical structures for rugged electronics environments, including PWB mechanical design details, thermal and structural design considerations, and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Support R&D Engineering teams in regular design reviews and stay current with new trends in design and materials used for rugged electronics environments.
- Work with CAD software to create drawing specifications in line with customer needs and create designs in accordance with company procedures and best practices.
- Develop prototypes, test them, and analyze results to ensure design specifications are met.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure design specifications are met and analyze problems that may arise during the manufacturing process, recommending solutions.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge and experience with a recognized CAD tools suite for mechanical design, preferably PTC CREO.
- Experience with MIL-STD's and other Aerospace specifications is an asset.
- Experience with FEA/CFD analysis tools is an asset.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with focus on mechanical design.
- Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in an aerospace or electronics industry.
