Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the development of leading-edge engineering solutions for various mechanical building systems, including HVAC ventilation and hydronics, process cooling, smoke management, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, and controls.
  • Develop technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary work environment with architects, engineers, and electrical and mechanical trade contractors to arrive at integrated design solutions.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and positive direction to less experienced team members.
  • Conduct quality reviews throughout the design process to ensure best practice design principles are being followed.
Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Minimum 12 years of mechanical engineering and design experience on major complex building projects.
  • Experience working in different delivery models, such as CM progressive design packages, Design Build, and P3.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a strong desire and ability to collaborate and problem solve in an integrated team environment.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code.
  • Detailed understanding of LEED v4.0 and ASHRAE 90.1 standards.
  • Advanced understanding of quality standards relative to mechanical design and planning, engineering fundamentals, and principles.
  • Working level understanding of REVIT MEP 3D is considered a definite advantage.
  • Eligibility for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance is mandatory.
