Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Operator to join our team at Lineage Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our refrigeration equipment, ensuring that our warehouse remains at the required temperatures at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Lead and promote a culture where health and safety is the top priority, providing leadership and support for health and safety initiatives within the department.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Carry out daily checks on refrigeration equipment and make necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Warehouse Safety: Tour the warehouse on a regular basis to ensure that the building is safe and supports warehouse activities.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Follow preventative maintenance programs to minimize disruptions in warehouse operations.
  • Equipment Optimization: Make recommendations to the Chief Operating Engineer and General Manager on programs and equipment to improve efficiency and meet ongoing customer requirements.
  • Utility Cost Management: Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs.
  • Technology Operations: Operate various warehouse management technology, including CMMS and computerized refrigeration control systems.
  • Compliance and Enforcement: Enforce established safety, health, contamination, and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize staff injuries, lost production time, damage, and contamination of product.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform other maintenance activities such as door repair, floor repairs, and other general building repairs.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Participate in other initiatives, projects, and duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience with building repairs and general maintenance duties, mechanical aptitude is an asset.
  • Availability: Weekends will be required as business dictates, willing to work flexible shifts as required, and respond to after-hours call outs.
  • On-Call Rotation: On-call rotation requirement.
  • Certifications: 5th Class Power Engineer or Refrigeration Operator Ticket (required).
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of provincial regulations regarding operating engineering and refrigeration, elevating devices, building and fire code, local bylaws, environmental, labour, and health and safety legislation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius.
