Job Summary:

The Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I to join our team at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for producing and recording high-quality magnetic resonance images for interpretation by radiologists and cardiologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and record magnetic resonance images for diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.
  • Prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, and explain procedures.
  • Respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure.
  • Maintain MRI equipment and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, patients, students, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging program or a certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospital setting and strong technical knowledge and skills.
  • Proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Interest in professional growth and continued education.
