Job Title: General Accountant

We are seeking an experienced General Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing sector.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing and reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with year-end audits, including preparing audit schedules and liaising with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including tax filings and remittances.
  • Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function.
  • A bachelor's degree in either business administration or accounting.
  • Experience working with a large accounting or ERP system is a great asset.
  • Experience working in a similar industry is an asset.
