We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our sales leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market share in the waste management industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a multi-faceted sales strategy to gain market share in your assigned territory and build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Prospect and gain new business, further develop relationships with current customers, and cross-sell and close new business opportunities in the assigned geographic region and Covanta facilities.
- Coordinate with the Customer Care, Operations, Sales Leadership, and Waste Approval Teams to ensure efficient and effective management of new customer accounts.
- Forecast and report on sales activities and pipeline opportunities through CRM/NetSuite.
- Follow established contracts, credit, pricing, procedures, and documentation protocols.
- Execute on sales growth strategy and marketing leads.
- Communicate with sales leadership team.
- 5+ years' experience in sales and account management in the waste industry.
- Bilingual - English & French.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to understand and communicate internally and to customers the technical capabilities of Covanta facilities, operations, transportation, and waste approval processes.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and technical industry.
- Strong experience in sales methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to provide accurate forecasting and pipeline development and management.
- A creative, out-of-the-box thinker.
- Analytical and metrics-driven through all stages of the sales cycle.
