About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our sales leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market share in the waste management industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a multi-faceted sales strategy to gain market share in your assigned territory and build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prospect and gain new business, further develop relationships with current customers, and cross-sell and close new business opportunities in the assigned geographic region and Covanta facilities.
  • Coordinate with the Customer Care, Operations, Sales Leadership, and Waste Approval Teams to ensure efficient and effective management of new customer accounts.
  • Forecast and report on sales activities and pipeline opportunities through CRM/NetSuite.
  • Follow established contracts, credit, pricing, procedures, and documentation protocols.
  • Execute on sales growth strategy and marketing leads.
  • Communicate with sales leadership team.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in sales and account management in the waste industry.
  • Bilingual - English & French.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to understand and communicate internally and to customers the technical capabilities of Covanta facilities, operations, transportation, and waste approval processes.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and technical industry.
  • Strong experience in sales methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to provide accurate forecasting and pipeline development and management.
  • A creative, out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Analytical and metrics-driven through all stages of the sales cycle.
