About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at Heritage Family Dental Centre. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient clinic.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Maintain and order supplies to prevent stockouts and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Perform reception and clerical duties to support the front desk team and ensure seamless communication with patients.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene and provide personalized advice to promote good oral health.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  • Take and develop X-rays to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Invoice patients for dental services to ensure timely payment and maintain a positive patient experience.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and relevant training or certification in dental assisting.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, dentists, and other team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures to provide accurate and informed support to the dental team.
