About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Heritage Family Dental Centre. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient dental practice.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure our dental practice is well-stocked and efficient.
  • Perform reception and clerical duties to provide excellent patient care and support.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients.
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene to promote good oral health and prevent dental problems.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure our patients receive timely and efficient care.
  • Take and develop X-rays to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of dental problems.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Invoice patients for dental services to ensure timely payment and maintain a positive patient experience.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition to help them integrate into our dental team.
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth to help them develop their skills and confidence.
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
