River View Hotel is seeking a skilled Hotel Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests. Your duties will include registering arriving guests, assigning rooms, and resolving any issues that may arise during their stay. You will also be responsible for processing group arrivals and departures, taking and canceling room reservations, and providing information on hotel facilities and services. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, as well as performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Key Responsibilities:

  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Resolve complaints and claims
  • Process group arrivals and departures
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
