Job Summary

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled IT Desktop Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our Canadian users, ensuring seamless desktop and server operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support to Canadian users, resolving desktop and server hardware and software issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Desktop Management: Manage and maintain correct levels of IT hardware stock, adhering to strict policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships with hardware and software service providers, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Service Desk Management: Manage tickets to specified SLAs, ensuring calls and requests are logged in the central Service Desk system and customer issues are responded to in a timely fashion.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Network and Server teams, to drive business success and grow skills beyond desktop scope.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years of desktop support or service desk experience in a blended environment of Microsoft and Apple technologies.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of SCCM, Microsoft products (Windows 10, Office 365, etc.), and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, etc.).
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundations V.3 or V.4 certification, and certifications in Microsoft and Cisco technologies (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Cisco network equipment.
  • Understanding of Linux/UNIX.
  • Customer-centric and Service-minded.
