Join Our Team as an Adult Community Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Community Psychiatrist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our Mental Health department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients in a diverse community practice setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person outpatient clinics, telehealth, and virtual care services to support community/rural clinics in the Central Zone, Addiction & Mental Health.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Conduct assessments, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of mental health conditions, including substance use disorders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Recent and relevant experience in all scopes of practice, including independent practice and after-hours inpatient care.
  • Valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta or a valid Notification of Eligibility Letter from the CPSA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC).

  • Position Classification: Full-time.
  • FTE: 1.
  • Unit and Program: Mental Health.
  • Compensation: This Position is Fee For Service. On Call Stipend – Physicians are remunerated for being on call. Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Compensation Programs – AMA Membership compensation programs are under review and may be subject to change.
